The University Hospital is a public hospital lacking crucial diagnostic machines. We feel best practice protocols and these machines would have been crucial in identifying our beloved Hyacinth’s immediate condition and may have prevented her death. The family would like to collect funds to fulfill this need for the University to avoid this happening to anyone in the future.
The Board members will be meeting July 11 and will notify the Family what is on their priority list. That’s why we are asking that you donate to the Hyacinth Gayle-Smith Foundation, a non-profit 501c3 organization in lieu of sending flowers. We are currently processing the paperwork now, so please revisit the website for updates. You can donate in the following ways:
Mail a check to:
Hyacinth Gayle-Smith Foundation (mailing address forthcoming)
Donate Online:
Click the button above to donate via PayPal. You do not need a PayPal account to donate. The payment account is identified by sharon.gayle@sbcglobal.net (Hyacinth’s daughter).
NOTE: Paypal charges a transaction fee of 2.9% + $0.30 USD. In order to receive the full benefit of your donation, please include this fee with your Paypal amount (e.g., if donating $100 to Hyacinth Gayle-Smith Foundation, please include 2.9% of $100 plus $0.30, or $3.20 (Paypal transaction fee), for a total Paypal amount of $103.20).
Please know that your donations are greatly appreciated and will support the memory and loving spirit of our mother, wife, grandmother, friend and mentor much longer and further in the future than flowers ever could. Every dollar donated will be spent toward this effort. Continue to visit this web site for updates on our progress.
